WORKSHOPS
Continental Workshops

The continental workshops are aimed at fostering communion and collaboration among the Biblical Apostolate Promoters, through the Regional and National Coordinators. The latter gather every two years for three days of reflection on a Biblical theme with a Biblical motto, of sharing of experiences through reports of activities in the regions and countries; sharing and exchanges of Biblical materials and programmes. Two major documents are produced as a result of the workshop : The Resolutions and Recommendations, guidelines for the Biblical Apostolate animation during the two years following the workshops, and a Narrative Report of the happenings during the workshops.

Other Workshops

We organize workshops to promote and to improve the organization of Biblical Apostolate in the SECAM regions and countries. Some workshops target specific groups like the agents of evangelisation, the catechists, the catholic teachers, the religious sisters and brothers, the Bible lecturers, etc.
These seminars are jointly organized with the regional and national coordinators or Episcopal Conferences. They normally ask for them and BICAM helps in many ways to hold them. Or BICAM suggests having a workshop on a specific topic and for a defined group. The organization of such seminars is one of the best areas of collaboration between the continental body of Biblical Apostolate in Africa and the regional and national ones.
Normally the regions and the countries provide the funding of these kinds of seminars. However, in case of need, BICAM can help in sourcing for funds including the seminar in its continental budgets. But it doesn’t mean that the seminars will be automatically funded.
In other terms, BICAM is either organizer or co-organizer or facilitator of the regional or national workshops. In countries where BICAM is located, it helps in workshops, Bible Days/Weeks at the diocesan or at the parish level.
