*5–10 July – Kibusi, Uganda: A training course was organized for Regional, National and Provincial Coordinators in Ulrika Centre. It was under the theme “Know your Job – A Programme for Biblical Apostolate Coordinators in Africa.” There were 22 participants drawn from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia. The Director of BICAM and Fr. Titus Amigu, the National Coordinator of Tanzania were the facilitators. Fr. Amigu’s talks centred on the following areas:
- “What is Biblical Apostolate?”
- “Biblical Apostolate in Africa: Presentation of BICAM”
- “Comment on selected paragraphs of Dei Verbum VI” and
- “Comment on selected paragraphs of the Interpretation of the Bible in the Church.”
The talks of the Director of BICAM were also centred on the following topics:
- “Lectio Divina, a way of relating to the Bible”
- “SECAM and Biblical Apostolate in Africa: Basic options and orientations”
- “SECAM Job Description for biblical Apostolate Coordinators”
- “Organizing Biblical Apostolate in Africa Today”
- “BICAM Projects designing and Application” and
- “Sourcing for funds and managing projects funds.”At the end of the programme, participants expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the course. They all pledged to put into practice the knowledge and the know-how they benefited from the course.
22-24 June 2009. Upon the request of the Episcopal Conference of Central Africa Republic (ECCAR), the Director of BICAM organized a three day training session on “Bible Apostolate and Clergy.” The training Session which took place at the headquarters of ECCAR was attended by all the 9 members of the ECCAR and the Secretary.
*24-28 May 2009-Ggaba, Uganda: The annual Inter-Seminary Meeting for the Staff of the Catholic National Seminaries was held in Ggaba, Uganda. It was under the theme “Lectio Divina and Biblical Apostolate.” There were about 60 formators including the Bishop in charge in Priestly Formation at the said Meeting. The Director of BICAM and Fr. Titus Amigu, the National Coordinator of Tanzania were there as facilitators. |
