*In January, the dioceses of Fada, Ouaga, Kaya and Manga celebrated their Bible month. In February, the same programme was celebrated by Diébougou diocese with a Bible which used to roam from Parish to Parish on the occasion of the year of Saint Paul.
*February 15th 2009, The Biblical Apostolate Commission donated 15 New Testaments to 15 youth representing 15 dioceses of the Episcopal Conference from Burkina-Niger as a sign of sending them on a mission on the occasion of the year of Saint Paul.
*From 2nd to 7th March, a Training Workshop was organized for Catechists at Ouagadougou by the Catechesis Commission. An appeal was made to The Biblical Apostolate Commission to help to initiate the Catechists who came from all the dioceses in Burkina in Biblical Apostolate. They were 30 in number and the mission was to restore the Catechists Session in their dioceses.
From 8th to 13th March, 21 lecturers from Major Seminaries from Mali and Burkina had their biennial meeting at “Séminaire St. Jean de Ouagadougou.” The theme for their meeting was “The Word of God.” The Secretary of the Biblical Apostolate Commission was invited to deliver a talk on Biblical Apostolate. The speech stressed on reasons for urgent, important and systematic Biblical Apostolate. The lecturers in one voice agreed on the need to initiate the seminarians in Bible sharing, individual Lectio Divina and in depth biblical homilies. |
